Epic: Palmeiras thrashes LDU and advances to Libertadores final against Flamengo

In a historic turnaround, Palmeiras thrashed LDU 4-0 on Thursday (30) at Allianz Parque, setting up a final clash against Flamengo in their seventh Copa Libertadores final. After losing 3-0 in the first leg in Quito, the Alviverde needed at least three goals to take the semifinal to penalties. However, they went beyond, scoring four and settling the match in regular time. Ramón Sosa and Bruno Fuchs scored to make it 2-0 in the first half, while Raphael Veiga, who came in at the 19th minute of the second half, was pivotal with two goals for the qualification. Youngster Allan also had a standout performance. Palmeiras and Flamengo will face off in a Libertadores final for the first time in four years since the 2021 decisive match in Montevideo, where Verdão claimed the tri-championship.
