List of 2026 Hajj Quota in 34 Provinces of Indonesia: South Sulawesi 9,670 – Papua 933

Jakarta – The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) has announced the distribution of the regular Hajj quota for 2026 in 34 provinces of Indonesia. In the eastern region of Indonesia, South Sulawesi (Sulsel) is one of the provinces with the largest quota, totaling 9,670. Reported by detikNews, the allocation of the regular Hajj quota was announced by Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak. Dahnil stated that the quota for each province was determined based on two considerations. ‘The considerations are, firstly, the proportion of the Muslim population between provinces and/or. Secondly, the proportion of the waiting list of Hajj pilgrims between provinces,’ Dahnil explained during a Working Meeting with the House of Representatives Commission VIII, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (10/28/2025). Dahnil mentioned that the waiting period for pilgrims to perform the regular Hajj is almost the same in all provinces. The waiting period for Hajj registration next year will reach 26 years. ‘The waiting period is around 26 years for all. In principle, there is a significant difference compared to the quota distribution in 2025,’ he explained. He then compared the waiting period for Hajj departure for the previous year, which reached 47 years. However, in 2026, the waiting period for Hajj departure in each province is almost the same. ‘The waiting time for Hajj pilgrims with the 2025 quota was very varied, up to 47 years, while the planned quota for 2026 in all provinces has the same waiting time,’ Dahnil stated. According to the data from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj), East Java received the highest quota for regular Hajj in 2026, reaching 42,406 pilgrims. Meanwhile, the province with the smallest quota is West Papua with 447 pilgrims. ‘West Java 29,643, Central Java 34,122, Yogyakarta 3,748, East Java 42,409, Bali 698, West Nusa Tenggara 5,798, East Nusa Tenggara 516, West Kalimantan 1,858,’ Dahnil said.
