During the next ten days, the Indonesian team will prepare at the Municipal Covered Pavilion ‘Rubén Ruzafa’ in Torre de Benagalbón to fine-tune their preparation for the Asian Indoor Hockey Championship in Thailand in December, said the Sports Councilor, Antonio José Martín.
In addition, an international men’s indoor hockey tournament will be held between the Indonesian team and the current Andalusian champion, the Club Deportivo Málaga 91, in various locations such as Moclinejo, Málaga capital, and Rincón de la Victoria, where it will take place on Sunday, November 2.
Mayor Francisco Salado stated: ‘Rincón de la Victoria is proud to host a national team and become an international reference in a growing sport like indoor hockey.’
Vice President and coach of CD Málaga 91, Juan Manuel Requena, explained that the choice of Rincón de la Victoria ‘responds to the high level of hockey we have here, its facilities, the Municipal School, and clubs like ours, which have established a solid and competitive structure.’
The team is conducting daily training sessions and joint practices with local players, in a technical and sporting exchange. In addition to training, ‘the team is enjoying our excellent weather and taking part in tourist visits to get to know our municipality,’ explained the councilor.
