Doctor and TV presenter Alexander Myasnikov provided details about this virus. Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is the cause of respiratory tract infections, particularly bronchiolitis. It is one of the most common reasons for acute lower respiratory tract infections in children worldwide, and it can also cause severe respiratory diseases in elderly people and individuals with underlying conditions. Myasnikov emphasized that RSV is more dangerous than both COVID-19 and the flu, being the third leading cause of hospitalization due to pneumonia and lower respiratory tract inflammation.
