Sabarimala devotees will now have to contribute Rs. 5 towards the Welfare Fund for booking virtual queue slots. The decision came into effect for those booking slots for Mandal, Makaravilakku season, starting slot bookings on Saturdays. The fund will be used to provide financial aid to pilgrims in case of emergencies or crises. This change led to server issues due to everyone booking at once.
