An ex-Metropolitan Police officer, Neil Sinclair, has been sentenced for his role in a £5m money laundering operation involving criminals in the UK and the United Arab Emirates over a five-year period. Sinclair illegally accessed police systems to share sensitive information with an organized crime group. He facilitated the transfer of £1.5m from the UK to the UAE and assisted in moving over £3.5 million within the UK. The crimes occurred between February 2016 and March 2021, while Sinclair was a serving officer and police staff member.
