These days, a fresh Indonesian horror film titled ‘The Book of Sijjin & Illiyyin’ has garnered attention at Fantasia Fest. Director Hadrah Daeng Ratu received the festival’s best director award for this lively yet somewhat formulaic movie. The plot revolves around a modern-day Cinderella who turns to dark forces to eliminate her cruel step-family. ‘The Book of Sijjin & Illiyyin’ is officially recognized as a sequel to the director’s previous work, effectively blending traditional horror elements with a contemporary storyline.
