The best chances of the game came from Mirassol, with Chico da Costa and Alesson. On Botafogo’s side, Artur missed the target with a shot. Throughout most of the game, the teams struggled to create opportunities, with many misplaced passes and shots. This match was crucial for securing a spot in the Libertadores. Both teams will return to the field for the next round of the Brasileirão. Mirassol will visit Fluminense on Thursday, while Botafogo will host Vasco one day earlier. The game between Mirassol and Botafogo was expected to be lively. Not only were both teams fighting for a spot in the Libertadores, but their first encounter of the season saw six goals. At Nilton Santos, Botafogo took a 3-0 lead in the first half, only to see Mirassol equalize in the second half. However, the rematch, this time in the interior of São Paulo, lacked the same excitement. The match was marked by numerous passing errors and wayward shots on both sides. Mirassol had the better chances, but Chico da Costa hit the post and Alesson was denied by goalkeeper Léo Linck. Key Moments: Hit the post! Close call: Mirassol had another chance at the end of a first half lacking much excitement. Alesson got past Barboza and delivered a powerful cross, narrowly missing the left post. Way off target: Early in the second half, Danilo attempted a long-range effort for Botafogo but missed the goal. Blocked! Following a long ball from Léo Linck, Chris Ramos found Danilo in the box, but Jemmes blocked his shot. Léo Linck steps up! Shaylon played a heel pass that bypassed David Ricardo, allowing Alesson to face Léo Linck one-on-one. The striker attempted a chip shot, but the Botafogo goalkeeper made a stunning save. Chico da Costa failed to convert the rebound. Off target: Shortly after, Artur cut inside from the right and aimed for the top corner but missed to the right.
