Egypt inaugurated the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) on Saturday, a highly anticipated billion-dollar exhibition of ancient Egyptian splendor. Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi remarked during the opening ceremony that the event marked a significant moment in the nation’s historical narrative. Nestled on half a million square meters, the museum hosts approximately 100,000 artifacts, with half of them available for public viewing, offering insights into over 6,000 years of history.
