Chennai: The Election Commission has approved the electoral directive to intensively revise the Special Electoral Roll (SIR) without the need for any objections, stating that these activities will be carried out more intensely than observed. In Thirunagar and Tambaram districts, Thanjore, a petition has been filed by the DMK’s former MLA Satyanarayanan in the Chennai High Court challenging the removal of names of deceased persons, duplicate names, unqualified persons and fake voter registrations from the electoral directive in the Thanjore district.
