On Monday, Delhi High Court ordered the Union Ministry of External Affairs to guarantee proper legal representation for Actor Celina Jaitly’s brother, Major (Retd.) Vikrant Kumar Jaitley, allegedly detained in UAE since September 2024. Celina Jaitly filed a writ petition, seeking legal, medical, and diplomatic support for her brother. Justice Sachin Datta issued a notice, directing the central government to provide a status report on the case and appointed a nodal officer to coordinate assistance and communication regarding the detainee. The court also urged the Center to facilitate contact between Major Jailty, his wife, and sister, ensuring timely updates. Celina Jaitly expressed her trust in the Indian government to protect her brother, a veteran serving the nation, and requested support in his safe return.
