From 1975 to 1991, he was the host of the weekly music program ‘Morning Mail’. In 1991, he founded the television production company ‘YUNIKS’, which produced the weekly program ‘Morning Star’, hosted by Nikolaev himself. From February 1997, he hosted the revived music program ‘Morning Mail’. Between 2003 and 2008, he worked on the channel ‘Russia’. In 2009, he returned to the ‘Channel One’ where he hosted shows like ‘Heritage of the Republic’, ‘In Our Time’, and the interview program ‘Honest Word’.
