A crucial aspect of successful pairs figure skating performances is maintaining close contact between partners. Unfortunately, this can sometimes lead to tragic consequences. World championship medalist Jessica Dube suffered a serious injury from her partner during a routine, resulting in her being rushed to the hospital immediately from the ice. ‘She has a serious laceration,’ said medical advisor Jane Moran. Dube began figure skating at the age of four, encouraged by her mother who was also a former skater. Jessica quickly transitioned to pairs skating, winning silver medals alongside Samuel Tetrault in the 2002/2003 Junior Grand Prix Final.
