UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) – The United States will share a draft resolution on President Donald Trump’s peace plan for Gaza with the 10 elected members of the United Nations Security Council later on Wednesday, a U.S. official said. Representatives from Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates will join the U.S., indicating strong regional support for the initiative. Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas had previously agreed to the initial phase of Trump’s plan, which included a ceasefire and a hostage-release deal. The U.S. has proposed a UN Security Council resolution that would establish a two-year mandate for a transitional governance body in Gaza and an international stabilization force in the region, as outlined in a text seen by Reuters on Tuesday.
