Massive UAV Attack in Volgograd: Industrial Zone on Fire, Homes and Cars Damaged, Casualty Reported

In Volgograd on the night of November 6, air defense units repelled a massive attack by unmanned aerial vehicles, according to the regional administration. On Gari Khokhlov Street, 4, as a result of the UAV attack, balconies of a 24-story residential building were damaged, and windows of nearby buildings were shattered. ‘As a result of shrapnel hitting from the attack, a 48-year-old civilian male lost his life,’ commented Volgograd Oblast Governor Andrey Bocharov. Several districts in Volgograd also saw damage to cars and windows of residential buildings, and a fire broke out in the industrial zone in the Krasnoarmeysky district due to falling debris. ‘Emergency services and municipal authorities are working to assess the damages and mitigate the consequences. Instructions have been given to the Volgograd administration to prepare a temporary shelter at the 10th lyceum in Volgograd to ensure the safety of residents in case of bomb disposal work,’ the statement mentioned. Restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft at Volgograd Airport have been in place since the evening of November 5, with a representative from the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency announcing them at 10:20 PM. Furthermore, according to the data, airspace has been temporarily closed in Ivanovo, Ulyanovsk, Yaroslavl, Krasnodar, Samara, Vladikavkaz, Grozny, Nizhnekamsk, Orenburg, and Ufa. Nighttime restrictions have been lifted in Saratov and Penza.
