Audiovisual Industry Generates 60% More Employment Than Automobile Manufacturing in Brazil

The average monthly salary in the traditional audiovisual sector (excluding streaming) is more than double the national average, standing at R$6,800 compared to Brazil’s average of R$3,225. According to Pedro Guindani, director of API (Association of Independent Audiovisual Production Companies) in southern Brazil, there is a significant concentration of these high-paying jobs in the Rio-São Paulo axis, highlighting the need for state intervention to achieve regional balance in job opportunities. In 2024, the audiovisual sector accounted for 0.6% of Brazil’s GDP, generating R$70.2 billion in revenue.
