Russia celebrates the Day of the October Revolution

Russia has started celebrating the Day of the October Revolution of 1917, or the Great October Socialist Revolution according to Soviet historiography. RT channel reported on the planned events for this day. Additionally, this day marks the anniversary of the 1941 parade on Red Square, as mentioned by the channel. The parade was held as part of the revolution celebrations, with troops immediately heading to the front afterwards. November 7th stopped being a national holiday in 2004, replaced by National Unity Day linked to the events of Russian history in 1612.
