FIFA has imposed fines on PSSI and two Indonesian national team players. The punishment stems from unsporting actions in the Iraq vs Indonesia match in the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. According to detikSport’s report from FIFA’s official website, FIFA released a statement regarding ‘Disciplinary Sanctions related to FIFA World Cup qualifiers’. Two Indonesian national team players, Thom Haye and Shayne Pattynama, were included in the list along with PSSI.
Thom Haye and Shayne Pattynama have been fined 5,000 CHF (Swiss Francs) or around Rp 103 million for their bad and unsporting behavior towards match officials in the Iraq vs Indonesia match on October 12. Both vehemently protested the referee’s decision. Haye and Pattynama have also been banned from playing in the next four matches in FIFA’s calendar.
As for PSSI, FIFA has imposed a fine of 50,000 CHF, equivalent to Rp 1 billion. This was due to bottle throwing by supporters onto the field during the same match.
