First snow, road repair, and bus lanes: Vladivostok woke up at 5

Traffic jams in both directions on 100th Anniversary of Vladivostok Avenue. Administration attributes congestion to roadworks on the turn to Russkaya with snowfall adding to the chaos. Congestion started early on Nekrasov overpass, Stoletiya, and Russkaya. Residents blame the designated lanes for reducing the roadway. Bypassing the traffic from the bus station to Morgorodok is not an option as the grading work is not complete yet. The city hall insists that the 5-star jams on Saturday were due to repair works at the intersection of 100th Anniversary of Vladivostok and Russkaya. Right turns for Sedanka-bound traffic are almost blocked, with asphalt being replaced, gravel base for sidewalks and roads being laid, and curbs being installed near Ka-25 helicopter. Yesterday, the ‘Urban Territory Maintenance’ office announced that the work would continue until Sunday evening. Knowing about such extensive roadworks and unprepared detours, postponing the bus lanes could have eased the life of drivers and public transport passengers, who are stuck in the same jams. The route to the city from Zarya onwards is now marked in red. Some try to bypass the traffic jam via Magnitogorskaya and Russkaya, along the ‘Friendship’ shopping center, but even there, everything is at a standstill. Outbound traffic congestion begins from the ‘Morye’ shopping center. Several accidents complicate the journey, making it more difficult to bypass them due to the designated lanes. Additionally, three hours ago, it started snowing in the city. Motorists are driving more cautiously, slowing down traffic even further. The roads are not slippery yet, but snow removal vehicles are already prepared. Currently, sanding trucks and tractors with brushes are working on the Sedanka-Patrokl highway and on Russky Island.
