In Makassar, a total of 10 figures from various parts of the archipelago were officially awarded the national hero title by Prabowo Subianto on Heroes Day 2025. The recipients include former presidents, labor figures, and scholars. The symbolic presentation of the national hero title took place at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday (10/11/2025) and was handed over to the heirs. The decision to award the title to these 10 figures is encapsulated in Presidential Decree Number 116/TK/2025 concerning the bestowal of the National Hero Title. Among the 10 figures, two former presidents, the 2nd President Soeharto and the 4th President Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur were honored. Additionally, labor figure Marsinah and military figure Sarwo Edhie Wibowo were also recognized.
