Simple Way to Reduce the Risk of Repeat Heart Attacks by Half Revealed

Cardiologists at Intermountain Health Medical Center presented the results of a large clinical study at the 2025 American Heart Association Scientific Sessions in New Orleans, revealing that individualized dosage selection of vitamin D3 may reduce the risk of repeat heart attacks by half for those who have suffered a heart attack. The study involved 630 patients who had recently had a heart attack. One group received standard care, while the other received ‘personalized’ therapy with regular monitoring of vitamin D levels in the blood and adjustment of D3 dosage to optimal levels (over 40 ng/ml). This approach helped reduce the likelihood of a second heart attack by 50%, without causing side effects. The researchers noted that standard vitamin D supplements rarely provide significant benefits, but with precise dosage adjustment based on vitamin levels in the blood, the effect becomes significant. They believe that personalized vitamin D management could be a new direction in preventing cardiovascular diseases, especially considering that a deficiency of this substance is observed in most people worldwide.
