Turkish and Egyptian Foreign Ministers Discuss Gaza Ceasefire and Post-War Efforts

The foreign ministers of Turkey and Egypt will meet in Ankara to discuss the Gaza ceasefire and international efforts to rebuild the enclave after the conflict. Recently, Turkey has been a vocal critic of Israel’s assault on Gaza, describing it as a genocide, which Israel denies. Along with Egypt and Qatar, Turkey has helped mediate the fragile ceasefire and aims to monitor its implementation closely. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will host Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty to discuss the next steps of the U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement. Fidan will highlight the importance of world powers assisting in the reconstruction of Gaza and reiterate Turkey’s willingness to contribute to these efforts.
