Russian Ministry of Economic Development announces further steps in regulating marketplaces

Authorities will be working on implementing the new law on the platform economy, particularly focusing on integrating with major state information systems (GIS). This was announced by Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov at the session ‘Economy of Trust: Transparent Digital Turnover on Platforms’ during the Platform Economy Day. ‘We will need to integrate with approximately 10 major GIS systems, starting from Rospatent, labeling, Rosaccreditation with declaration, and so on,’ said Reshetnikov. He noted that the delayed implementation date will be beneficial in this context. The law ‘On Certain Issues of Regulating the Platform Economy in the Russian Federation’ will come into effect on October 1, 2026.
