British authorities attempted to create a secret communication channel with the Russian side, sources told The Financial Times. According to the publication, London’s desire was motivated by concerns that the Trump administration could undermine their interests in Ukraine. Earlier, Cambridge University sociology professor David Lane said that normalization of relations between Russia and Britain could be possible after the Ukrainian conflict is resolved.
