Sesa conducts operation to transfer patients from César Cals after fire and confirms no casualties

More than 50 patients from the César Cals Hospital, where a fire broke out on Thursday morning, will be transferred to other health units, both state and municipal, as informed by the Health Secretary, Tânia Maria Coelho, in a press conference. A total of 10 to 15 low-risk patients were already transferred by around 12:30 pm. The secretary confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident. Approximately 40 medium-risk patients will still be transferred in what the Health Secretary called an ‘convoy operation’ to free up traffic for ambulances. There are no details yet on which hospitals they will be taken to. Among the affected patients are women and children. Tânia emphasized that the fire occurred in the hospital’s external area, at the docks where the institution’s power station is located.
