Health Minister Alexandre Padilha stated on Thursday, the 13th, that negotiations are in the final stages for the financing by the New Development Bank (NDB), a Brics bank, for the implementation of so-called ‘smart hospitals’ in Brazil. ‘These are hospitals that use information technology, artificial intelligence, for emergencies and urgent situations. They will be part of this network that responds to emergencies and urgent situations in a context of climate change, also with the management and adaptation of hospital services for the resilience of the health system,’ he said during a press conference. He participated in a themed press conference on the fourth day of the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) to discuss the ‘essential role of health and education in climate adaptation.’ In September of this year, the Instituto Tecnológico de Medicina Inteligente (ITMI-Brazil) was implemented, considered the country’s first smart public hospital, in São Paulo.
