Seoul – South Korea’s former acting president, Yun Suk-yeol, last December declared a state of emergency in the country. Opposition parties accused Yun Suk-yeol of abusing power and causing the emergency situation. Subsequently, the martial law declaration was revoked. Following this, Yun Suk-yeol was removed from his position as acting president. A new government took office. At the same time, police arrested Yun Suk-yeol for misusing authority and declaring a state of emergency in the country. Furthermore, ongoing investigations regarding this case are underway.
