Wamenbud Giring Ganesha Reveals Progress of Indonesian Music Conference

Wakil Menteri Kebudayaan, Giring Ganesha, revealed the progress of the Indonesian Music Conference (KMI) that is still ongoing. KMI is a forum organized by the Ministry of Culture to bring together music industry players, regulators, and other stakeholders to shape the future of the national music ecosystem. After nearly a month of KMI, several points raised by musicians have been gathered and are starting to be addressed. Giring Ganesha disclosed these developments. Giring explained that they are also focusing on testing the licensing and concert organization system, especially regarding coordination between promoters and the police. Furthermore, Giring also addressed the issue of music royalties, which is once again in the spotlight. He mentioned that the reform process now involves the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, particularly in the reform of the National Collective Management Institution (LMKN).
