Pakistan Supreme Court Judges Resign

Pakistan’s Supreme Court judges resigned in protest against the rejection of parliamentary amendments to state sovereignty laws. The resignations follow a severe crackdown on state sovereignty that has triggered intense turmoil. Opposition parties also express concern over these resignations. The resignation is seen as an attempt to protect democracy, with serious questions about cases being heard at the Supreme Court remaining unresolved, with some criticizing the military chiefs for influencing decisions and manipulating appointments. Currently, there are a total of 24 Supreme Court judges, with two resigning, the remaining judges may have to implement these resignations.
