At least 11 dead and 12 missing after landslide in Indonesia

A landslide on the Indonesian island of Java has resulted in the deaths of at least 11 people, with another 12 still missing. The landslide, which occurred on Thursday due to heavy rains, struck three villages in Central Java, burying some houses and damaging others. ‘By Saturday afternoon, the number of recovered victims was 11, while another 12 are still missing,’ said Muhammad Abdullah, head of local search and rescue operations, to Afp. More than 700 individuals, including search and rescue personnel, military, police officers, and volunteers, have been involved in the operations.
