Death toll rises to 11 from landslide in Indonesia

The death toll from a landslide in Indonesia has risen to 11, a local authority reported on Saturday (15), as rescue teams work against the clock to locate another 12 people who are still missing. The landslide, triggered by heavy rains, occurred on Thursday in the Cilacap district in Central Java province, burying houses in three villages. ‘By Saturday afternoon, the number of victims found dead is 11, and we continue to search for another 12,’ Muhamad Abdulá, local head of search and rescue, told AFP. The previous toll, reported on Friday, was two dead and at least 21 missing.
