The national disaster agency confirmed the recovery of two bodies on Thursday, one on Friday, and an additional eight on Saturday. Abdullah mentioned the involvement of over 700 personnel from various organizations in the search and rescue operations. Budi Irawan, a deputy at Indonesia’s disaster management agency, highlighted the challenges faced by rescue teams due to victims being buried between 3 to 8 meters deep. The country’s monsoon season, typically occurring between November and April, increases the risk of flash floods, landslides, and heavy rainfall in many regions.
