KPAI: Implementation of MBG Program Needs to Listen to Children’s Opinions

Komisi Perlindungan Anak Indonesia (KPAI) has launched a study on the Free Nutritious Meal Program. The study is conducted with the support of the Center for Indonesia’s Strategic Development Initiatives (CISDI) and World Vision Indonesia (WVI). Researchers suggest that kitchen teams should engage children in discussions more often to ensure the program meets their needs and tastes. They also emphasize the importance of maintaining the quality of the food provided. Previously, KPAI released policy recommendations based on field visits to SPPGs and educational units. Chairperson Margaret Aliyatul Maimunah states the need to listen to children’s voices to improve the implementation of the MBG program. KPAI, CISDI, and WVI conducted the study to promote meaningful child involvement in the MBG program. The study utilizes the Child-Led Research (CLR) approach, where children lead the research process from instrument development to data collection and analysis.
