Vladimir Levkin’s Monument Unveiled at Troekurovskoye Cemetery: Tribute to the Late Artist

Vladimir Levkin is buried in the 31st section of Troekurovskoye Cemetery in Moscow. The singer passed away on November 17, 2024, after battling blood cancer for several years. On Sunday, November 16, relatives, close friends, colleagues, and fans of the musician gathered at his grave to unveil a monument in his memory. Levkin’s wife and daughter Victoria and Nika expressed warm words in memory of their famous father. They thanked everyone for attending the monument unveiling ceremony.

‘Friends, relatives, loved ones, thank you all for coming. This would have been very important for Dad. Today we are truly lucky with such sunny weather. It’s almost always cloudy when we come here, signaling that he is with us. His songs are playing, so he is with us in any case. So, thank you all for being here today,’ they said.

‘It’s a great loss, and it’s still incomprehensible to us. He left too soon, he could have lived on and on. He would have delighted his daughter, such a beauty growing up and bringing joy. Yes, we gave birth in the same year, I a little earlier, and then Nika was born. And our daughters are still delighting you in ‘Interns.’ They play one role, sometimes it’s my Varya, sometimes Nika. So, in a way we have come together and united,’ Svetlana concluded.

Later, Levkin’s wife shared the difficulties she faced in organizing the unveiling of such a majestic monument. She admitted that she barely had enough money to bring to life everything that can be seen today at Vladimir’s grave.

‘I couldn’t do it any other way. I am very grateful to my family who has always been by my side, advising me, dissuading me from something. They advised against making such an expensive monument because I was scared, I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to handle it. And sometimes I woke up at night, thought, ‘Marusya, what are you doing? Where will you get that kind of money? What are you doing? He wouldn’t appreciate this and would scold you for doing all this,’ the blonde said with a trembling voice.

The star’s mother couldn’t hold back tears at her son’s grave. ‘Thank you all for remembering my little boy. I bow deeply to you all. What else can I say? I still can’t come to terms with it. How can this be? All this is wrong, so wrong. There are two beautiful girls left, my granddaughters,’ grieving Raisa Ivanovna said.

Subsequently, Levkin’s wife made a public comment about the singer’s death. She noted that her husband’s passing was peaceful. According to her, he didn’t suffer for long, he just fell asleep and never woke up.

‘He started feeling unwell, he fell asleep. They tried to save him, but he never woke up. He probably felt sorry for me, his elderly mother, a thousand people who were worried. Perhaps he didn’t want people to judge him as a sick person. It was important to him that people spoke of him as an artist. Now many ask how to help. I say — just play his songs. He wanted rotations, he wanted his songs to be heard,’ the woman recalled in an interview with the project ‘Not to Discuss’ with Olga Chebykina.
