BR-251 Closed with No Expected Reopening After Trailer Overturns in MG

BR-251 is closed on Sunday morning (11/16) after a trailer loaded with wood overturned at km 337 of the highway, in Fruta de Leite, Northern Minas Gerais. According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the accident occurred around 7:30 am, scattering the cargo on the road. A social media image shows the trailer blocking the highway. PRF teams from Salinas are on-site waiting for a tow truck to start removing the vehicle and cargo. Currently, there is no prediction for when traffic will be allowed to flow again. Marijuana seized in the BR-251 accident is incinerated by the Federal Police. Drivers in the area are advised to seek alternative routes using navigation apps. There is no information regarding any victims or the cause of the accident.
