In Colorado, Mona Shah and Joe Samagond from Fremont completed a scenic drive across the state. Joe described the experience as a blend of colors, altitude, and awe, with nature’s grandeur on full display. Their itinerary included stops in Denver, Boulder, Rocky Mountain National Park, Glenwood Hot Springs, Aspen, and Breckenridge, where they were captivated by golden Aspens, elk calls, and the serene atmosphere of the Continental Divide. Joe recommends securing a timed entry pass for Rocky Mountain National Park on recreation.gov, as they are priced at just $2 and are in high demand. Plan ahead to snag a pass before they sell out. Wendy and Rick Walleigh from Los Altos recently returned from Egypt and Jordan, where they explored ancient sites dating back 2,000 to 5,000 years. Of the many breathtaking locations they visited, Abu Simbel in Upper Egypt stood out. Situated near the Sudan border along Lake Nasser, this site features the Temples of Ramses II and his wife, Nefertiti, carved into the surrounding rock. The sheer size of the statues and the intricate bas-relief walls left the Walleighs in awe. Wendy described the temples as a marvel of ancient architecture and artistry. Their trip was a fascinating journey through history and culture, showcasing the rich heritage of these regions. For a glimpse into the past and a deeper understanding of civilization, Egypt and Jordan offer unparalleled experiences.
