Diogo Moreira celebrated the historic Moto2 title in style. After ‘kicking a ball’ with football legends like Pelé and Ronaldinho in the middle of the track, the Brazilian’s return to the closed park maintained the level. Moreira arrived in Valencia’s final with a 24-point advantage over Manu González with 25 points available in the final. The Brazilian had a conservative race and finished in 11th after starting in ninth, easing off in the final laps when he saw González had a problem with his bike. He became the first Brazilian champion in any class of the World Motorcycle Championship.
