In the Moscow region, a 52-year-old man, Alexey L., avoided punishment for the murder of singer Prokhor Chaliapin’s aunt and grandmother due to the expiration of the statute of limitations. This information was reported by the Telegram channel Shot. The tragedy occurred in Volgograd in February 1996. A friend of one of the victims barged into the apartment, where he attacked 60-year-old Lyudmila Kolesnikova and 30-year-old Irina Netaeva with a knife. He also shot the latter. The women were found the next day by relatives, among whom was 12-year-old Prokhor Chaliapin. The criminal was only arrested in 2020 in the Moscow region. By that time, he already had convictions for robbery and theft. However, in 2021, the criminal case was closed due to the statute of limitations, and the man was released. In the summer of 2025, he was sentenced to two years of probation for drug possession.
