President Prabowo Subianto recently inaugurated the Emirates-Indonesia Cardiology Hospital in Jebres, Solo. With the establishment of the hospital, he expressed that patients with heart disease no longer need to seek treatment abroad. ‘I believe this will bring new hope to heart patients so they don’t have to go far for treatment abroad; we have excellent and the best facilities, and we will strive to provide the best healthcare services that we can offer. Once again, I thank our brothers and sisters at Emirates,’ he said during the inauguration on Wednesday (11/19/2025).
Besides the hospital, Prabowo emphasized the expansion of healthcare facilities for the education of doctors, nurses, and paramedics on a large scale. According to him, the need for doctors and nurses is immense. ‘The hospital is crucial, but so are its staff. We need a significant number of additional dentists, nurses, paramedics, and we will also expand and increase educational facilities for doctors, nurses, and paramedics on a large scale,’ he revealed.
He also received advice from Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin to add 30 new and existing medical faculties. Furthermore, Prabowo also promised scholarships for medical students. ‘The Health Minister suggested adding 30 new medical faculties, and I requested an increase in student allocation for existing faculties. Specifically for doctors, I will endeavor to provide a significant number of full scholarships,’ he explained.
‘Therefore, our education will increase full scholarships for medical, nursing, and paramedic studies. With these facilities, we hope to set a benchmark as a measure of reducing fatality rates, speeding up access, and becoming a center for educational innovation and research,’ he emphasized.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin stated that the Emirates-Indonesia Cardiology Hospital was built over two years at a cost of Rp 400 billion. ‘Mr. President, this hospital was built 2 years ago and consists of 100 rooms, 3 operating rooms constructed at a cost of Rp 400 billion, with 250 for the building, 150 for equipment, and it has been established as a cardiac center in Central Java,’ said Budi.
Budi mentioned that this hospital symbolizes the cooperation between two nations, Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). ‘They say the first heartbeat is the beginning of life, but when two heartbeats synchronize, it symbolizes friendship between two individuals. So, the inauguration of this hospital is not just a regular inauguration but also a symbol of cooperation between the Indonesian and UAE nations,’ he concluded.
During the inauguration, Prabowo was accompanied by Vice Chair of the UAE Presidential Office for Development and Martyrs Affairs, Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Sheikh Theyab is the son of the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Among the ministers present were Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and the Head of the Presidential Communication Team Angga Raka Prabowo.
