Indonesia is on high alert due to the eruption of the Semeru volcano. Located in Java, specifically east of Jakarta, the country’s capital, this natural phenomenon has prompted authorities to raise the alert level to its highest to prevent any disasters. So far, 300 people have been evacuated. According to Europa Press, Indonesia’s National Agency for Disaster Mitigation (BNPB) has issued a statement informing residents in the area. Currently, the alert level stands at four due to the dangerous volcanic activity observed near human settlements.
