LIVE: NASA Unveils Unprecedented Images of Comet 3I/Atlas

The NASA, American space agency, will reveal unseen images of 3I/Atlas, an interstellar comet that has been stirring the scientific community in recent months. The new records will be displayed in a live stream, which will take place on the agency’s YouTube channel on Wednesday afternoon (19), at 5 pm Brasília time.
The event will be held at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland, USA, and will bring together specialists to explain some recent discoveries about the comet, as well as materials collected by different missions of the American space agency.
NASA also mentioned that the images will be presented in a scientific manner, aiming to explain some unusual characteristics and behaviors of the interstellar comet.
Among the images to be showcased by NASA are some that have been stored for over 40 days and have never been made public. These records were taken by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) between October 2 and 3, when the comet passed close to Mars.

About 3I/Atlas
Discovered in July by an observatory in the United States, 3I/Atlas has been energizing the scientific community as an interstellar comet – only the third ever detected – and for its unusual behaviors and characteristics. Recently, the comet reached perihelion, meaning it had its closest approach to our Sun.
