Russian Supreme Court Liquidated “Party of Growth”

Moscow. November 20. INTERFAX.RU – The Russian Supreme Court, acting on a lawsuit from the Ministry of Justice, liquidated the All-Russian political party “Party of Growth” due to its non-compliance with legislation. The court’s administrative board granted the lawsuit and liquidated the “Party of Growth,” as announced by the court’s press service. In the Ministry of Justice’s lawsuit, attention was drawn to the party’s failure to comply with legislation requirements, which state that a party must have regional branches in at least half of the subjects of the Russian Federation. The court explained, “On the day the lawsuit was filed, the party had branches only in 43 subjects, which is grounds for its liquidation according to the Federal Law on Political Parties.” Representatives of the party agreed to the requirements presented.
