NASA Clarifies Rumours about Alien Spacecraft on Interstellar Comet 3I/ATLAS; Shares Images

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has dismissed widespread rumours claiming that interstellar object 3I/ATLAS’s behavior, including the speculation that it could be an alien spacecraft. NASA confirmed that the object is a natural comet originating from beyond our solar system. In a recent blog post, NASA mentioned that the comet, the third interstellar object ever discovered, will make its closest approach to Earth on December 19 at a distance of about 170 million miles, nearly twice the distance between Earth and the Sun. The space agency is diligently monitoring the interstellar comet as it approaches Earth. Contrary to social media rumors connecting the comet to alien spacecraft, NASA affirms that it is a natural celestial object and is under observation by a record number of spacecraft and telescopes. Discovered by NASA’s ATLAS telescope in Chile on July 1, the comet 3I/ATLAS is part of an extensive solar system-wide observation campaign involving 12 NASA spacecraft and space telescopes.
