Apollo Hospitals Chennai Launches Center of Excellence for Parkinson’s Disease and DBS

Apollo Hospitals, located in Greams Lane, has inaugurated a specialized Center of Excellence focusing on Parkinson’s Disease and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). This center offers advanced care for movement disorders by combining state-of-the-art neurosurgery with personalized treatment approaches. According to a recent press release, the center is equipped with innovative brain-sensing DBS technology that customizes treatment plans for individual patients, leading to significant improvements in mobility, independence, and overall quality of life. The center is spearheaded by Senior Consultant Neurologist Vijayashankar Paramanandam and Senior Consultant Functional Neurosurgeon Arvind Sukumaran. Ilankumaran Kaliamoorthy, the CEO of Apollo Hospitals Chennai Region, also shared insights during the launch event.
