This victory marks the first time that Palmeiras has won the Copa do Brasil, also being the first national title for the women’s team. Palmeiras takes home R$ 1 million for the title, while Ferroviária receives R$ 500,000 for finishing as runners-up. The two teams will meet again in the semifinals of the Paulistão women’s. The first match is scheduled for Sunday, with the return leg set for December 4th. São Paulo and Corinthians will play the other semifinal. President of Palmeiras, Leila Pereira, was present at the women’s team victory in Araraquara. The president watched the match from a VIP box at the stadium, alongside Filippo Bertolucci, owner of SAF Ferroviária. The president of the CBF, Samir Xaud, and the president of the Paulista Football Federation, Reinaldo Carneiro Bastos, also were in attendance at the final. The return of the Copa do Brasil women’s to the calendar was a bet by the new CBF management. The Copa do Brasil trophy had a special meaning for Amanda Gutierres, number 9 for Palmeiras. In addition to scoring the first goal and participating in the second for Palmeiras, the striker is close to leaving the club. Gutierres has been sold to Boston Legacy in the United States and will depart Palmeiras at the end of the season. She is still aiming for another title in the Paulistão’s semifinals. Since joining Palmeiras in 2023, Amanda has scored 71 goals in 92 games and aims to bid farewell by lifting another trophy. Key Moments: Palmeiras made their first breakthrough! At ten minutes, Amanda Gutierres received the ball and took a fast break, going into the box and taking a strong shot, troubling Luciana. Soon after, Tainá Maranhã passed two markers and shot, forcing Luciana to deflect the ball over for a corner kick. 1-0: Palmeiras, with more possession, opened the scoring at 21 minutes, with Amanda Gutierres. Raíssa Bahia crossed from the left and found the number 9, who headed the ball into the ground, leaving Luciana with no chance. 1-1: Ferroviária equalized from a set-piece. At 38 minutes, Duda delivered a free-kick into the box, where Andressa rose above the defense to level the score. Ferroviária almost scored again! In a play similar to the first goal, Pati Maldaner nearly scored an own goal, but the ball fell to Kate Tapia, who had a collision with Nat Vendito’s head. 1-2: Palmeiras regained the lead in stoppage time of the first half. Amanda Gutierres outpaced Camila and attempted a cross, which Andressa deflected into her own net. Luciana made a miraculous save, but the ball rebounded for Brena to tap in. 1-3: In the first minute of the second half, Palmeiras challenged a possible penalty for Tainá Maranhão. The referee reviewed the footage and saw a foul on the Palmeiras attacker, awarding a penalty. Tainá Maranhão took the shot, sending it high into the net for the third goal. Almost a goal! Ferroviária made a mistake in the build-up, and Tainá Maranhão attempted a low cross that was cleared by the defense to Amanda Gutierres. However, the number 9 mishit the shot, sending it over. Great save! Brena unleashed a powerful strike from outside the box, but Luciana dived to push it out for a corner. Back-to-back chances! Following a long-range shot, Tapia spilled the ball to Sissi, who almost scored, but the Palmeiras goalkeeper managed to deflect the attempt. Then, Poliana blocked the follow-up, denying the goal. 1-4: In another Ferroviária defensive error, Diany laid it off to Greicy, who placed a well-directed shot into the net at the 34th minute mark. 2-4: After a cross from Mylena Carioca, Raquel struck first-time to pull one back in extra time.
