Vinanda Prameswati, Mayor of Kediri, was officially appointed as the Chairperson of the Branch Advisory Board (Kamabicab) of the Scout Movement in Kediri City and became the youngest Kamabicab in Indonesia on Thursday (11/20). The inauguration took place solemnly at the Joyoboyo Hall in Kediri City Hall and was led by the Chief Scout of the East Java Scout Region, HM Arum Sabil. Vinanda expressed gratitude and honor in carrying out such a significant responsibility at a young age, emphasizing her commitment to making the Scouts the vanguard in shaping the character of the future generation. “This is both an honor and a great responsibility. I hope that together we can advance the Scout Movement in Kediri City, shaping a young generation that is not only intelligent but also morally upright and strong in character,” said Vinanda on Friday (11/21).
Meanwhile, in his address, Arum Sabil expressed pride in Vinanda’s inauguration as the youngest Kamabicab. He mentioned that it is proof that the Scout Movement is getting closer to the younger generation and is relevant to the times. “She is a young, energetic leader. Vinanda’s appointment as the youngest Kamabicab in Indonesia proves that the Scouts are capable of attracting young leaders to work together in nation-building,” emphasized Arum Sabil.
The inauguration ceremony experienced a change in location due to rain. Initially planned to be held in an open area, it was moved indoors. However, the Kediri Scout officials promptly rearranged all preparations, ensuring that the inauguration proceeded orderly and reverently, demonstrating the resilience and unity of the true Scouts. The moment turned emotional when Arum Sabil mentioned Vinanda’s father, AKBP Edy Herwiyanto, who is the Criminal Investigation Unit Chief of the Surabaya Metropolitan Police, present to witness his daughter’s achievement.
With this inauguration, the Scout Movement of Kediri City is expected to become more progressive, adaptive, and a strategic partner of the local government in fostering the character of the young generation towards Indonesia Emas 2045. The complete lineup of the Kediri Scout Movement for the 2025-2030 term includes Vinanda Prameswati as the Kamabicab of the Scout Movement in Kediri, Qowimuddin as the Vice Kamabicab of the Scout Movement in Kediri, Edy Herwiyanto as the Chairperson of the Kediri City Branch Scout Council (Kakwarcab), Edi Sutrisno as the Secretary of Kwarcab Kediri, and Edi Darmasto as the Chairperson of the Financial Audit Agency (LPK) of Kediri City.
