Internacional played almost the entire match against Ceará with a player more and won 2-1 on Thursday at Castelão, for the 34th round of the Brazilian Championship. Vina, from Ceará, was sent off three minutes into the game. He tackled Luis Otávio and received a straight red card from referee Rodrigo José Pereira de Lima. Vitinho opened the scoring for Internacional in the second half, but Ricardo Mathias scored an own goal from a corner and equalized for Ceará. However, Inter’s striker redeemed himself and scored the winning goal. The match went back to 10 x 10 after Inter’s second goal, as Carbonero assaulted a Vozão player and was sent off, already in the 41st minute of the second half. The victory moves Inter away from the relegation zone. The Colorado team reaches 40 points, still in 15th place, but four points ahead of Vitória, who has 36 and is in the relegation zone. Ceará, on the other hand, remains in 14th place with 42 points. Inter will face a direct duel against relegation on Monday as they host Santos at Beira-Rio. Meanwhile, Ceará will have a tough match against fourth-placed Mirassol away from home, also on Monday.
