Strong Fire at Shaturskaya Thermal Power Plant After UAV Attack – Reports

Ukrainian drones reportedly attacked the Shaturskaya Thermal Power Plant in the Moscow region, causing a strong fire. Eyewitnesses heard multiple explosions, with a significant blaze currently raging at the station, as reported by TK Readovka today, November 23rd.
According to locals, people are believed to be trapped under the debris at the station. All emergency services have been dispatched to the scene. Parts of the city are without electricity, and hot water supply has been disrupted. No official information on the cause of the fire has been released.
As EADaily previously reported, the morning briefing from the Russian Ministry of Defense did not mention the attack on the Shaturskaya Thermal Power Plant by Ukrainian UAVs.
The Shaturskaya Thermal Power Plant, named after V.I. Lenin, is a 1500 MW thermal power station. It is one of the oldest power stations in Russia, established in 1920 as part of the GOELRO plan. Initially fueled by peat, it now primarily runs on natural gas.
