At the age of 81, German actor Udo Kier, who was currently starring in “The Secret Agent” and had also appeared in “Bacurau”, both films by Pernambucano Kleber Mendonça Filho, has passed away. The information was confirmed by his partner, artist Delbert McBride, to the American magazine Variety. Details about the cause of death have not been disclosed. Kier, however, was an active figure in the global cinema scene and often made public appearances.
Last year, he appeared on Mendonça Filho’s social media, in a series of photos taken by the filmmaker in Recife, while preparing “The Secret Agent”. Kier collaborated with a wide range of international directors, which helped him become a familiar face worldwide. With American director Paul Morrissey, he starred in “Flesh for Frankenstein” and “Blood for Dracula”, films that brought him closer to the horror genre.
