Liliya Yudina Passed Away – November 24, 2025

Liliya Yudina’s entire artistic career was associated with the Maly Theatre, where she served from 1953. She portrayed over 50 roles, including Eliza Doolittle in Bernard Shaw’s ‘Pygmalion,’ Abigail in Eugene O’Neill’s ‘The Glass Menagerie,’ Regina in Henrik Ibsen’s ‘Ghosts,’ Sophia and Natalya Dmitrievna in ‘Woe from Wit,’ Regan in ‘King Lear,’ Becky Sharp in William Makepeace Thackeray’s ‘Vanity Fair,’ among others. Her last role was Turusina in Anton Chekhov’s ‘An Artist’s Story.’
